§ 02

Hosting and server log files

This website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Avenue #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. When you visit it, technically necessary data (IP address, date and time, page visited, browser, operating system) is processed in log files.

Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest in secure and stable operation). Any transfer to the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or EU standard contractual clauses (Art. 45, 46 GDPR).

§ 03

Order form

When you order a translation, we process: first and last name, email address, phone or WhatsApp number, country, city, purpose, the uploaded documents, your notes (e.g. a delivery address), payment method, payment reference and, where given, the payer’s name and proof of payment.

This processing is necessary to perform the contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Required fields are needed to process the order.

Your documents may contain data about third parties or sensitive data (e.g. civil status records). We use them solely to produce the translation and are bound to confidentiality as a sworn translator.

§ 04

Storage of uploaded documents

Uploaded documents go directly from your browser into storage provided by Cloudflare, Inc., 101 Townsend St., San Francisco, CA 94107, USA. The storage is restricted to data centres in the European Union; any access from the USA is based on the EU-US Data Privacy Framework or standard contractual clauses.

The files are deleted automatically 30 days after upload. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

§ 05

Sending emails

Your order is sent to us by email, and you receive a confirmation by email. We use [EMAIL PROVIDER, location] to send them. Legal basis: Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

§ 06

Temporary storage in your browser

So that your entries aren’t lost when you switch language or reload the page, the order form is stored temporarily in your browser’s memory (sessionStorage). This data never leaves your device and is deleted as soon as you close the tab or your order has been sent.

Legal basis: § 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG (strictly necessary) in conjunction with Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR.

§ 07

Cookies

Strictly necessary are only the “Next-Locale” cookie, which remembers the language you chose, and an entry in your browser’s storage (localStorage) that records your cookie choice (§ 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG).

Analytics cookies (Google Analytics) are only set if you agree in the cookie banner. We do not use advertising cookies.

§ 08

Google Analytics

With your consent, we use Google Analytics 4, a web analytics service of Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland (“Google”). Google Analytics sets cookies and collects information about how the website is used (e.g. pages viewed, time on site, approximate location, device and browser). Google Analytics 4 does not store IP addresses. When an order is submitted, we send its number, amount and document types, but no names, contact details or documents.

The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, § 25(1) TDDDG). Without consent, Google Analytics is not loaded. You can withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future, via “Cookie settings” at the bottom of every page.

Data may be transferred to Google LLC in the USA. Google LLC is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, which is covered by an adequacy decision of the European Commission. Analytics data is deleted automatically after 14 months.

§ 09

Communication by email and WhatsApp

If you contact us by email or WhatsApp, we process your details to handle your request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

WhatsApp is operated by WhatsApp Ireland Ltd.; data may be transferred to the USA based on the adequacy decision for the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. You can always reach us by email instead.

§ 10

Payment

For SEPA bank transfers, your payment data is processed by your bank and ours (Sparkasse Südpfalz).

For Orange Money payments, the transaction runs through Orange Cameroun S.A. (Cameroon); the recipient of the payment is the account holder, Messine M'Atoga Élisabeth. This transfer to a third country is necessary to perform the contract (Art. 49(1)(b) GDPR).

§ 11

Fonts

The fonts on this website are hosted locally. No connection to third-party servers (e.g. Google) is made when you visit it.

§ 12

Retention

Uploaded documents are deleted automatically after 30 days (see above). Order data received by email and the finished translations are deleted [X months] after the order is completed, unless you ask for earlier deletion and no legal retention duty applies.

Accounting records are kept for the statutory periods (§ 147 AO, § 257 HGB: up to 10 years); legal basis: Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.

§ 13

Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and objection (Art. 21 GDPR).
