Sworn translation of a transcript (Baccalauréat, university)
Need your Baccalauréat or university transcript recognised in Germany, for example for uni-assist? I translate and certify your transcripts using the terminology German institutions expect.
This page applies equally to university transcripts and to the Baccalauréat transcript — the price is the same.
For admission to a German university through uni-assist or directly through an institution, the transcript must be translated by a sworn translator and present subject names and grades in recognised terminology. An imprecise translation can delay or block your application.
I translate Cameroonian and French Baccalauréat transcripts as well as university transcripts (Licence, Master), including when the grading scale is printed on the back.
What you'll need
- The complete transcript, both sides if the grading scale is on the back
- The exact page count (a sheet with the grading scale on the back counts as 2 pages)
- Which qualification the transcript is for (Bac, Licence, Master)
- The spelling of your name as shown in your passport
Frequently asked questions
Will my translation be accepted by the German authorities?
As a rule, yes: translations by a translator sworn in Germany are recognised by immigration offices, universities, registry offices and embassies. Some institutions additionally require an apostille or legalisation of the original; that remains your responsibility.
Do I need to send the original document?
No, a complete and legible scan or photo is enough. Make sure all pages, stamps and signatures are visible.
How do I count the pages?
Count every side of the original that contains text. A GCE slip with the grading scale on the back therefore counts as 2 pages.
How long does delivery take?
Express: 2 business days. Standard: 4 business days. Delivery times start once payment and all documents have been received; weekends and public holidays don’t count. Postal delivery of the original takes additional time.
