Sworn translation of a GCE O-Level or A-Level certificate
GCE certificate (Ordinary or Advanced Level) that needs to be recognised in Germany? I translate and certify your GCE transcripts, including the grading scale often printed on the back.
This page covers both GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level — the price is the same for both.
The GCE grading system differs from the German one, so a sworn translation must accurately render subject names and grades (A to U) and, where needed, explain the scale so the receiving institution can interpret it correctly.
I translate GCE Ordinary Level and Advanced Level transcripts issued in Cameroon and Nigeria, for a university admission, a visa application or a qualification recognition with a German authority.
What you'll need
- The complete transcript, both sides (the grading scale on the back counts as an extra page)
- Whether it's O-Level or A-Level, if not clear from the document
- All subjects and grades legible, with nothing cut off in the scan
- The spelling of your name as shown in your passport
Frequently asked questions
Will my translation be accepted by the German authorities?
As a rule, yes: translations by a translator sworn in Germany are recognised by immigration offices, universities, registry offices and embassies. Some institutions additionally require an apostille or legalisation of the original; that remains your responsibility.
How do I count the pages?
Count every side of the original that contains text. A GCE slip with the grading scale on the back therefore counts as 2 pages.
How long does delivery take?
Express: 2 business days. Standard: 4 business days. Delivery times start once payment and all documents have been received; weekends and public holidays don’t count. Postal delivery of the original takes additional time.
What if the translation contains an error or a name is misspelled?
Report it by email within [14] days of delivery and it will be corrected free of charge. Tip: give the spelling of names as in the passport when ordering.
